2009-05-28, What a great month May has proved to be with some interesting events and changes throughout the entire aviation world. Here are some of the latest updates and remember, updates are alsoalways posted on the homepage. Aviation Dimension welcomes your contribution. We publish you for free without judging your work or deciding what should or shouldn't be published, that we leave to our viewers to decide. Enjoy the updates.

Rand Airshow 2009 by Jens Frischmuth:

Jens was at the Rand Airshow 2009 to capture an exciting and colourful programme. 115 images do justice to this central icon of South African Airshows. Though the Air Force did not manifest itself in its usual large presence, the show no doubt stood proud and wowed crowds throughout the day. A full day's flying saw spectators going home to talk about the show while looking forward to next year's event. Click on the image to view.

Photo Competition:

Neil Darby of the UK is our latest competition entrant with a great pic of a BAE Hawk from Mach Loop as well as one of a gloriously yellow Pitts from White Waltham. Check out his entry in the competition. Click here: Competition

Suzuki Aerobatic Challenge & SAAF Museum Open Day: 16 May 2009:

Aerobatics ChallengeSwartkops AFB recently hosted the Suzuki Aerobatic Challenge & SAAF Museum Open Day: 16 May 2009. Though the weather did not really want to play along, spirits and flying were not to be beaten as both spectators and pilots took to doing what they do best: loving aviation. Apart from the flying, the day also saw some bragging being done by car clubs and model aircraft builders. Nigel Hopkins took top awards in his Extra 300 with Glen Warden in second, in the same Extra 300 closely followed in third by Johnnie Smith in a Slick 360.

A bonus Mid-May wallpaper for you:

Jet Glow WallpaperThis month's bonus wallpaper features a brilliant image of fuel igniting in a jet pipe during start and thus is appropriately named: Jet Glow!
